'India: A land of Opportunity', says Ontario Premier
By Bal Krishna - PTI
Toronto, Mar 8 (PTI) Terming India as "a land of opportunity", a top Canadian leader has asked companies to formulate strategic plans to do business with the emerging Asian nation.
"Canadian companies should formulate strategic plans to do business with India as the country was emerging as, 'a land of opportunity'," Premier of Canadian province of Ontario Dalton McGuinty said.
Ontario sees tremendous opportunities for a closer commercial relationship with India and is formulating aggressively strategies for more cooperation and business collaborations, he said while addressing Canada-India Business Council (C-IBC) Information Technology Forum yesterday.
Over 100 top executives from Canadian companies were participating in the seminar, "Canada and India IT: A Marriage Made in Heaven," organised by the C-IBC.
Recalling his trip to India, January this year, as a fascinating sum total experience of a dynamic country McGunity said he was amazed during his road trip from Agra to Delhi.
During the trip, he said, I saw India's past, present and future - from camel and bullock cart, as means of transportation, scooter and motorcycles -- as means of family conveyance to sleek cars all passing by on the same highway dotted by high-tech companies and manufacturing plants.
"All of them had one thing in common -- a cell phone plugged to their ear making business and personal calls." Urging the Canadian companies to invest in India, McGuinty said the country was becoming a centre of global commercial interest and economic activity. PTI
